2018 Rules Modification

As discussed in our text thread, the majority of the league voted for some modifications to the way trades affect how many years you can keep traded players. Those modified rules can be found under the rules pages. I have also updated some sections of the rules for clarity and moved the trade section from “4.0 Rosters and Lineups”  to “3.0 League Setup and Competition“. The main aspect of the rule modifications to trades are as follows:

  • Player traded who where not previously kept may be kept for a maximum of three years following the current season or starting in the new season if traded in the off-season.
  • Players traded who have years left on their contract may be kept for a maximum of two years following the current season or starting in the new season if traded in the off-season.
  • Players traded who do not have years left on their contract may be kept for a maximum of one year following the current season or starting in the new season if traded in the off-season.
  • Any player traded in the off-season must be declared as a keeper and count toward the 3 keeper maximum. (Players traded during the season do not need to be declared as keepers the following year)
  • Owners may not acquire more than 3 players in the off-season with trades since you can only keep 3 players.
  • Off-season trades for players need not have the same number of players from each side.
  • Off-season trades for draft picks must include the same number of picks from each side to avoid roster limitations at the end of the draft.
