2020 Season info and Covid rule changes

What’s up everyone. I hope everyone is healthy and is staying safe. Sorry for the very late updates. With the uncertainty surrounding sports I was hoping to gather as much information as possible. As far as I know, the NFL will be on schedule to start the season on September 10th with no pre-season games scheduled. *=CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL EMAIL

2020 Keeper Player Values

Welcome to a new year in the Game of Throws league. Due to Covid 19, I have implemented a few rule changes and payout modifications that I discussed in detail a couple of weeks ago via email. These rule changes will hopefully help alleviate any complications that may arise this year and will only be implemented for this year. I will post the rule changes with some revisions in a day or two.

Now for the Keeper Player Values. The following is each team’s final roster from the 2019 season along with their draft value if you decide to keep that player for 2020. Their draft values are based on where they where drafted last year, regardless of who drafted them. If a player was undrafted then they are worth a 16th round pick. A player with a value of 0 can not be kept. The chart below is sortable on the website or you can use the search feature to find your team name and display only your team. You can also download or print the chart. PLEASE let me know if you notice any errors.

2019 Draft Lottery

As mentioned in the previous post, the 2019 Draft Lottery was conducted on June 21st. The 1st and 2nd picks were up for grabs in the lottery and the remaining picks are based on last years standings. The Waterboy, with a 19.05% odds of winning the 1st overall pick, won that 1st pick.  They jumped up 2 spots from 3rd to 1st. This is the 2nd time The Waterboy held the first pick in their franchise, the first being in 2016. Mother of Dragons won the 2nd pick, also jumping up three spots from 5th to 2nd. The results and remaining picks are listed in the table below. [Edited 8/13/19. The results were accurate with The Waterboy and Mother of Dragons winning the 1st and 2nd picks respectively but how much they jumped, the percentage and the final drafting order were corrected.]

2018 Rules Modification

As discussed in our text thread, the majority of the league voted for some modifications to the way trades affect how many years you can keep traded players. Those modified rules can be found under the rules pages. I have also updated some sections of the rules for clarity and moved the trade section from “4.0 Rosters and Lineups”  to “3.0 League Setup and Competition“. The main aspect of the rule modifications to trades are as follows:

  • Player traded who where not previously kept may be kept for a maximum of three years following the current season or starting in the new season if traded in the off-season.
  • Players traded who have years left on their contract may be kept for a maximum of two years following the current season or starting in the new season if traded in the off-season.
  • Players traded who do not have years left on their contract may be kept for a maximum of one year following the current season or starting in the new season if traded in the off-season.
  • Any player traded in the off-season must be declared as a keeper and count toward the 3 keeper maximum. (Players traded during the season do not need to be declared as keepers the following year)
  • Owners may not acquire more than 3 players in the off-season with trades since you can only keep 3 players.
  • Off-season trades for players need not have the same number of players from each side.
  • Off-season trades for draft picks must include the same number of picks from each side to avoid roster limitations at the end of the draft.
